A UNIQUE ASEPTIC ENVIRONMENT

La Garde Stainless Steel tanks are designed to provide unparalleled aseptic control.

They are polished inside and out, reducing the roughness of the tank walls and preventing bacteria and other harmful substances from gaining a foothold. Sanitation becomes easier and faster. This guarantees outstanding cleanliness and sanitation.

The result: better wine, fewer losses and outstanding quality control.

La Garde offers electropolishing as an option to reduce the Arithmetic average Roughness (Ra) of the inside wall surface of your tanks.

Electropolishing is an electrochemical process in which the metal part to be electropolished is immersed in an electrolyte bath. An electrical current is induced to amplify the electrochemical process, then the surface layer of the metal dissolves and evens out. Once hardened, the result is a very smooth surface.

Electropolishing affects the crystalline structure of the surface by making it more homogeneous than mechanical polishing can, thus improving wear resistance, reducing its coefficient of friction and increasing resistance to corrosion and abrasion. After electropolishing, the inner tank walls are smoother and offer less friction for micro-organisms and argol to cling to. Decontamination is no longer a complicated process. Cleaning cycle and sterilization times are reduced by at least 50%.
